Commercial steel / metal buildings can be ventilated without opening doors or windows. Ventilation can be for heat reduction, exhaust of noxious fumes, or simply pull in some fresh outside air.
Austin Building Systems, Inc. offers 2 types of ventilation methods other than windows and framed openings:

are typically for ventilation and come with operators to open and close the vents. For more aggressive ventilation, louver fans can be installed.
are used at the peak of gabled steel buildings to allow air to be ventilated out the top of the building. Bird screens are installed to keep the birds out and from nesting. Ridge vents can be single or multiple 10' to 12' long, or continuous along the entire ridge of the steel building. They come with operators to open and close, and are a more passive type of ventilation compared to louvers.
